September 16, 2008, Vancouver, BC: Continent Resources Inc. (CNQ: CORE) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that at the Company's recently held board meeting, Michael R. Pawlowski and Daniel P. Laux were appointed as directors. The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Michael R. Pawlowski as President and Daniel P. Laux as Vice President, Exploration of the Company. Robert Bick remains as CEO.
Mr. Pawlowski has more than 28 years of experience in global exploration, mine development and production. Mr. Pawlowski spent over 16 years executing large tonnage copper porphyry drilling projects, increasing the geological block model tonnage through exploration. He has developed a particular expertise in porphyry copper oxide systems. Mr. Pawlowski is a Registered Geologist in Arizona and a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists and holds a M.Sc. in geology from the University of Idaho, and a B.Sc. in geology and chemistry from Northern Illinois University.
Mr. Laux has over 24 years of experience as an exploration and mine geologist. Mr. Laux has worked in copper mines in Arizona and gold mines in Nevada, and has explored for mineral resources throughout western North America and South America. He holds a B.Sc. in geology from Arizona State University.
The Company's Board of Directors now consists of: Robert Bick, Paul Cowley, Lawrence Dick, Herrick Lau, Daniel Laux and Michael Pawlowski. Diana Ho and Robert Wolfe have resigned as directors.
Continent Resources Inc. holds a significant portfolio of copper properties in one of the world's most prolific copper-producing regions, in Arizona and New Mexico. This area is elephant country for copper, containing the greatest cluster of porphyry copper deposits anywhere in the world and making up over 10% of the world's copper production. Continent Resources Inc. is focused on the discovery of copper resources which are suitable for leaching.
