January 14, Calgary, Alberta: Continent Resources Inc. (CNQ: CORE) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Bick and Lawrence Dick to the Board of Directors.
As Exploration Manager for Chevron Resources in Chile, Larry Dick led the team that discovered the giant Collahuasi district copper/molybdenum deposits and the Can Can epithermal gold deposit. Today Collahuasi is one of the largest copper producers in the world. Earlier in his career, Larry discovered the Golden Bear gold deposit in northern British Columbia which gave the Hunter Dickenson Group and Wheaton River Mines their early start. As Executive Vice President and Director of General Minerals Corporation, Larry led the exploration that discovered copper and silver prospects in Chile, Peru and Bolivia. As President, Director and lead geologist for Continuum Resources Ltd., (TSX.V - CNU), Larry identified and developed the Natividad and San Jose deposits advancing them from "depleted" properties to potentially viable gold and silver mines. Larry received his Ph.D. in Economic Geology from Queen's University and has extensive experience in the exploration and evaluation of base and precious metals deposits worldwide.
Mr. Robert Bick is the CEO of Evolving Gold Corp. which he turned around from a struggling under-financed CNQ listing to one of the most exciting junior gold exploration companies on the TSXV www.evolvinggold.com. Robert is an integral part of a Canadian business legend and was involved in every aspect of Bick's Pickles - on the line, in the fields, on the road - in branch operations across Canada and overseas. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Bick founded a children's clothing company and raised $25,000,000 as president of a software start-up. As marketer, Robert worked directly with Shell Oil companies around the world to launch Formula Shell and to develop exclusive, innovative pump promotions. Robert has wide-ranging experience as a management consultant crossing many sectors - Manufacturing, Crown Corporations, Distribution, Healthcare, Publishing, Property Development, Adventure Travel, Executive Training. Robert is the co-developer of a state-of-the-art problem-solving methodology and a founder of thinkX Intellectual Capital Inc. In addition to his business activities, he spent 10 years as a classical flautist performing and recording throughout Europe and North America with the Galliard Ensemble.
The Board of Directors have also appointed Robert Bick as the President and Chief Executive Officer and Herrick Lau as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
Mr. Herrick Lau is an experienced investment banking professional who has conducted transactions in initial public offerings, reverse takeovers, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and various advisory services. Through his 14 years of experience in investment research and corporate finance, Mr. Lau is knowledgeable in performing due diligence, valuation, financing structuring, fairness opinion and research. Aside from his practice in corporate finance, Mr. Lau also has experience as a finance executive in publicly traded and private companies. His industry practice involves developing financing strategy, liaising with external parties, devising business development plans and maintaining compliance with corporate governance. Mr. Lau can thus demonstrate his knowledge and understanding of the needs of investors, shareholders and company founders, and can work together with regulators and industry professionals to implement an optimal financial strategy. Mr. Lau is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and has a Masters degree in Finance and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration at Simon Fraser University.
